Since Ada Schools has used 8 inclement weather/calamity days, 3 more than the allotted 5, students will attend school on Monday, March 6, through Wednesday, March 8, the first 3 days of Spring Break.
> If there is another calamity/weather day, the make-up day would be March 9 then March 10.
> Should there be an 11th calamity day, the school system would begin to add days to the end of the school year beginning with May 26

Four Ohio Northern wrestlers are still alive after the first day of the two-day NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Wrestling Championships on Friday afternoon at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.
Junior Dylan Dolph (Canton/South), sophomore Gavin Nelson (Oregon/Clay) and freshmen Seth Transue (Plain City/Dublin) and Nate Barcaskey (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) are all in the consolation quarterfinals.
Each man will need three victories without a loss on Saturday to finish third and receive a bid to the NCAA III Championships March 10-11 at LaCrosse, Wis
Klava Katayama finishes 17th in 100 freestyle prelims

CANTON - Ada freshman swimmer Klava Katayama finished 17th out of 24 swimmers in the 100 freestyle preliminary heats at the Div. II state meet held Friday evening in the C.T. Branin Natatorium.
Katayama finished the 100 free in 53.63 to post the 17th-best time in the three preliminary heats. Her 50-yard splits were 25.39 and 28.24.
She just missed making it to the B Finals 100 freestyle race Friday. Only the top 16 finishers by time in an event make it to the finals.
The top eight advance to the A Finals, while nine through 16 compete in the B Finals.

Deb Curlis, marketing director of Community Health Professionals and retired president of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce was named the 2016 Hardin County Citizen of the Year at the Hardin Chamber and Business Alliance annual meeting Feb. 23 in McIntosh Center. The award was presented to a full house of friends and acquaintances at the 11th annual membership meeting and award ceremony of the Hardin County Chamber Business and Alliance.
The dinner meeting was in McIntosh Center Feb. 23.

ONU will play for the OAC crown against No. 3-seeded Wilmington at home in Ada at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The winner gets an automatic bid to the NCAA III tourney.
The No. 5-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team used a defensive effort to defeat Marietta 61-60 in Thursday evening's Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal round to advance to the OAC Tournament championship on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears move to 26-0 overall with the victory.
With Northern up by one point and Marietta in possession of the final shot, junior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) recorded back-to-back blocks to seal the Polar Bear victory.
