The Ada/Lost Creek Gators finished third in the eight-team Western Ohio Aquatics League (WOAL) meet held July 13-14 at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. Ada was only 10 points behind second-place Wapak.

One of my brothers lives in the mountains of Virginia where he regularly picks a variety of wild berries on his runs up the mountainside and into the woods. This never really impressed me because I don’t like blackberries and raspberries so why bother picking them?
William J. "Bill" Allen, age 78, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11:27 pm at Birchaven Village in Findlay, Ohio.
On March 12, 1934 in Magoffin County, KY. he was born to John and Betty (Shepard) Allen who preceded him in death. On December 21, 1953 he married Ruth Lines and she preceded him in death on March 26, 1999 after being married for 45 years.
Bill retired as an accountant. In the spring of 1953, Bill joined the Air Force. He was a Jehovah’s Witness.
Martha J. “Janie” Henson, age 95, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11:25 PM surrounded by her family at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on June 22, 1917 in Wayne County, W.V. to Pearley and Sarah E. (Ball) Wilson, who preceded her in death. On June 24, 1938 she married Rev. Herbert J. Henson and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1987.
Janie was a homemaker. She was a 45 year resident of Ada and a member of the High Street Freewill Baptist Church of Harrod, where her husband was also the pastor for many years.

Ready, get set, swim! That command starts Friday for members of the Ada/Lost Creek swim team at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool.
This year, Bluffton hosts the Western Ohio Aquatic League meet championships. The event, will bring hundreds of fans and swimmers to Bluffton for the next two days.
“Warms-up is at 7 a.m. followed by festivities at 9 a.m. and swimming beginning around 10 a.m.” said Liz Diller, one of the two Bluffton swim team coaches. “Normally we have a couple thousand fans here, so it adds up pretty quickly.”
Stratton Greenhouses, 9915 Lincoln Highway, Bluffton, will hold a "storm recovery sale," Friday and Saturday, July 13-14. Sale hours are Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
