ADA__The Ada High School tennis team battled hard but lost to visiting Elida 5-0 in a battle of the Bulldogs at their delayed home opener on a sunny but cool Monday evening, April 20.

The improving Ada netters dropped to 0-3 after the loss. Elida improved to 5-5 with the victory.

“I am proud of the players, I saw so much progress,” said first-year Ada head coach Shelleigh Alexander. “We have only been able to play three matches.”

LEIPSIC__The visiting Ada High School softball team run-ruled Leipsic 14-0 in a Blanchard Valley Conference mismatch on Monday, April 20.

The Bulldogs jumped ahead 5-0 after the first inning, then put the game out of reach with a seven-run second frame. Ada tacked on two more runs in the third inning.

The Bulldogs out-hit Leipsic, 12-2.

Ada improved to 13-2 overall and 3-2 in the BVC with the lopsided road win. The Bulldogs are 4-1 in away games and 9-1 at home.  

Leipsic fell to 2-8 overall and 2-3 in BVC play with the defeat.

LEIPSIC__The visiting Ada High School baseball team lost 10-0 to Blanchard Valley Conference co-leader Leipsic on Monday, April 20.

The Bulldogs fell behind 4-0 after the first inning. The Vikings tallied two runs in the second frame, then added three in the third.

A Leipsic run in the home fourth invoked the 10-run rule after Ada went scoreless in the top of the fifth.

The Bulldogs were out-hit 10-3 as Leipsic swatted four doubles. Ada committed two errors, and the Vikings made one miscue.

FROM FACEBOOK__The ONU Tech Club will be hosting a free Touch-a-Truck community event on Thursday, April 23 from 5-8 PM. This is a great opportunity for children and families to explore a variety of vehicles, learn about different careers, and interact with local professionals in a hands-on environment. The event will take place in the parking lot near the ONU football stadium. Free-will donations will be collected for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Ada Exempted Village Schools receive Ohio Momentum award

Current chamber director Lindsay Hollar announced at the April chamber breakfast that she is stepping down later in 2026 to take on a larger role in a family business, Sheldon Gas Company of Dunkirk.
