Opal Armentrout 1922-2012
Opal Armentrout, age 90, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at 2:45 PM at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kenton.
She was born on July 9, 1922, in McGuffey, Ohio to Frank and Cynthia (Rowe) Shepherd and they preceded her in death.
On July 30, 1941, she married Zenith "Wayne"Armentrout and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2008.
Opal had worked at North Electric in Kenton. She was a lifelong member of the McGuffey Church of Christ, where she had been a secretary, taught Bible School, and was a member of the ladies group. She loved to sew and crochet. She enjoyed woodworking with Wayne.
Opal and Wayne loved to travel throughout Hardin County and they wintered in Florida for 8 years.
She was lovingly known to her grandchildren as "Grandma Trout."
Surviving are two daughters, Judy (Ted) Spradlin of Alger, & Kathy (Steve) Stedman of Kenton; three grandchildren, Gayle Criblez, Perry Spradlin, & Kyle Johnston; eight great grandchildren, Meridith, Kelsie, Grant, Garrett, Shelby, Graci, Kooper, & Korbin.
She was preceded in death a great grandson, Jacob; one sister, Minerva Ellis; & eight half brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Thomas Kahley and Pastor Jacob Huber officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call 4:00-8:00 on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until the time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made to the McGuffey Church of Christ.
