Here's the latest from the Ada Kiwanis Club

The Ada Kiwanis Club met on Tuesday Nov. 4, at noon at McIntosh Center, O.N.U., Ada. President John Berg called the meeting to order at noon.

Ada Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger, was present with an official search warrant for the missing Kiwanis gavel. The warrant was given to President Berg with the promise that the police department would continue the investigation into the gavel’s disappearance.

The birthday of member Bill Fuller (November 4th) was noted in song.
The Kiwanis Anniversary of Carol Friesner (November 5, 2013) was noted.

-In business:
-Members heard an updated financial report from Treasurer Bryan Marshall.
-The satellite club met last Wednesday. Jeff Schulman mentioned an idea for a bookmark project. They will meet tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. at Community Health Professionals.
-Ohio Kiwanis District Governor Diana Keplinger will visit Divisions 2 and 3 on November 19th at the Sidney Moose Lodge. Three members, John Berg, Joe Ferguson and Jon Umphress are planning to attend.
-A thank you note was received from Jim Evans for the club’s donation to the Smile Packs program.
-Ohio Kiwanis license plates are now available. Visit www.oplates.com.
-Club attorneys will be recognized with a special program on Tuesday November 11t.
-ONU Circle K reported that they participated in the Kiwanis spaghetti dinner, and the Halloween parade.  They also participated in “Trick or Treat for UNICEF” and “Trick or Can”

Upcoming activities include:  bingo at Lost Creek Care Center and Operation Christmas Child boxes.    
-The American Red Cross Blood Drive is set for next Monday. Members will be assisting with the event.
-Brian Myers is investigating a possible upcoming project.
-Charles Van Dyne reported that the mayor is consulting with an engineer about the Caboose Renovation project and the committee will be meeting with the mayor about this.
-Members heard an updated report on the recently concluded spaghetti dinner.
-The 50-50 drawing was won by Marilyn Green.
      -Upcoming Events:
-November 10 Red Cross Blood Drive, 11:30-5:30 (Kiwanis responsible for refreshments & coverage)
      -November 11 brief business program honoring club attorneys
      -November 18 no business or program – service activity (Brian Myers)
      -November 25 brief business – program (Amanda Bennett)
The Ada Kiwanis meets at 12:00 noon each Tuesday in McIntosh Center, ONU. Guests are always welcome.
