Ada band excels in Saturday's "double-header"
The Ada High School marching band hit the road at 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 to compete in two OMEA-sanctioned events.
The band first performed during a rainy Bloom-Carroll Classic Marching Band Competition in Carroll, Ohio. Ada was awarded Best Color Guard, Best Percussion and Best Music in Class C. The band placed 1st in Class C and 2nd in the combined Class B/C events.
The band then headed to Tri-Valley High School in Dresden to perform in the Tri-Valley Classic against 10 bands in the combination B/C class.
Ada'sperformance, executing the drill and producing great music, was the best yet - earning a 4th place award.
Included in their highest overall score of the season (240 points), the Ada band earned Superior rating in Percussion, Visual Effect, Marching, and General Effect.
In Class C the guard placed 2nd of 7, while the band placed 3rd of 7.
