1938:
November 7, 1938 Mr. and Mrs. Bert Levine of Cleveland purchased the Huber Drug Store at 221 North Main Street. Mr. Levine is a registered pharmacist and a graduate of Ohio Northern University. Mrs. Levine is formerly Geraldine Underwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I.C. Underwood of Ada.
December 13, 1938 the Ada Relief Corps gave up its charter. There were three surviving member of the 51-year old Women’s Auxiliary of G.A.R. and were unable to carry on. The Women’s Relief corps of Ada, No.193, Department of Ohio, was organized on October 25, 1887, and was originally composed of wives of Civil War veterans. Only three members remain- Mrs.B.F. Binkley, president Mrs. Molly Price, secretary; Mrs. Mary Spar, treasurer. Charter members not living were Elecxta S. Davis, Lizzie Gilbert, Minnie Garwood, Rebecca Thomas, Nettie Cooney, Sarah A. Harmony, Nancy Hall, Hannah Kekler, E. Jennie Richesen, Ellen Park, Mary Bratton, Lottie Day, Mary Fritz, Rachel J. Mustard, Mattie J. Rutledge, Jane E. Bodell, Augusta Riddle, Annie W. Engle, Mary E. Garrett, Elizabeth B. Thompson, Allie Souder, Albina J. Lehr and Elizabeth Hutchinson.
