Longtime fire chief Jay Epley spoke to residents of Vancrest on Wednesday afternoon.
He explained about the department and answered questions. He also brought along a fire truck which residents could see after his presentation. Jay was named Citizen of the Year last November.

The police department arranges a program for residents once a month. Sometimes the programs involve police officers explaining their work, sometimes the speakers come from other community agencies.
