Liberty Township CARES Act funds go to fire and EMS
Liberty Township trustees announced significant contributions to two township entities this week.
The trustees received a little over $86,000 in CARES funding. They gave $60,500 to the Ada-Liberty Township Fire Department and $24,000 to the Ada-Liberty Township EMS.
According to Patty Griffin, township fiscal officer, the fire department used part of the funds to purchase an extractor machine that will wash turnout gear. The department also purchased new turnout gear.
The EMS was given $24,000. Members of the township trustees are Gary Hall, chair, with Brad Hays and Jeff Acheson.
Through the Coronavirus Relief Fund, the CARES Act provides assistance for state and local governments. It covers expenses incurred due to the public health emergency involving covid-19.
