Columbus Moore retired from Alan Nott Honda
Columbus Moore, 88, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1932, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Peter and Emaline (Hicks) Moore who preceded him in death. On Aug. 21, 1953, Columbus married Betty L. Patton and she died on Feb. 22, 2016.
Columbus worked at Sheller Globe, Lima and Rudolph Foods, Westminster. He retired from Alan Nott Honda, Lima. He was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church, Alger. Columbus enjoyed spending time with family, attending church, reading the Bible, growing a large garden, and watching the Andy Griffith show most evenings.
He is survived by two sons: Junior (Linda) Moore of Lima and John (Melissa) Moore of Kenton; two daughters: Geneva (Paul) Mullins of Lima and Jennifer (Butch) Sheldon of Harrod; four grandchildren: Tony Sheldon, Olivia (Bob) Poe, Crystal (Matt) Buchannan, and Wesley Moore; and four great grandchildren: Wyatt, Hunter, Trent, and Garrett; and three great-grea-grandchildren: Jace, Sarah, and Seth.
Columbus was preceded in death by seven brothers: Robert Lee, Emery, Andy, Glen, Clovis, Geraldine and Denver Moore; and five sisters: Frannie Shepherd, Osie Allen, Josie Day, Pearlie Nichols and Lucie Shepherd.
Funeral service will begin at noon on Saturday, July 3, at the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of Alger with Pastor Dave Mowery officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 3, at the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of Alger.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
