Proposed renewal of income tax for Ada schools operating expenses

The Hardin County Ohio November 2, 2021 General Election ballot for the Village of Ada includes a proposed Ada School District Income Tax renewal. The ballot question asks:

Shall an annual income tax of 3/4% on the school district income of individuals and of estates be imposed by the Ada Exempted Village School District to renew an income tax expiring at the end of 2022, for 5 years, beginning January  1, 2023, for the purpose of current operating expenses of the school district.

Voters are asked to vote for or against the tax, which was established in 1992 and renewed in 

  • 1997
  • 2002
  • 2006
  • 2012
  • 2017

The purpose of the tax is to provide revenue for current operating expenses:

  • Wages, retirement, and insurance benefits
  • Supplies and materials
  • Utilities

The current tax rate is an estimated 10.41% of the general revenue budget.
