The following two Hardin County residents are vying for one position on the Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors:

Jeffry Billenstein of Kenton is seeking his third term to the Hardin SWCD Board of Supervisors.  Jeffry is a partner at BFD, Ltd (formerly Billenstein and Sons).  In recent years, Jeffry has been an integral part of BFD’s commitment to providing its customers with services such as: custom farming/harvesting and farm drainage utilizing the latest technologies available.

Aside from assisting in the farming operation, Jeffry has devoted the majority of his time to addressing farm drainage issues for local farmers.

Billenstein is a member of the Ohio Land Improvement Contractors Association (OLICA) where he has been an informative liaison between legislators who directly impact soil and water conservation and the contractor/farmer whose livelihood depends on our state’s soil and water.

He and his wife, Leisha, have two daughters, Quinn and Rose.

Adam Casper is seeking his first term to the Hardin SWCD Board of Supervisors.  Adam was born and raised in Hardin County, where he currently lives with his wife, Brittany, and their 15-month-old son, Oakley on their multi-generational family farm.

Along with running the farm, Casper also works full time at Sheldon Gas Company, is a Stewart Seeds dealer and is owner/operator of Casper Ag Service.  He has been involved in 4-H and FFA for 20+ years, whether it be as a showman in his youth or now, sponsoring/supporting these programs.

Casper Farms has worked closely with SWCD on nutrient management and conservation efforts for many years and, in running for this position, hopes to contribute his knowledge and ideas to better serve the rest of Hardin County in doing the same.
