Ada Public Library will host about 50 teen librarians at a Teen Think Tank conference at the United Methodist Church on Friday.

The event is a time for librarians to attend sessions where they can share ideas on unique and engaging programs to use in their libraries.

The conference, begun a few years ago, is held twice a year, and is hosted by different public libraries each time.

Bill Jamerson will speak about the Civil Conservation Corps at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, at the Ada Public Library.

The Michigan-based author will present an hour-long music and storytelling program dressed in uniform. He will show clips of his PBS film, read excerpts from his novel, and sing original songs while playing his guitar.

The CCC was a federal works program created by the government in the heart of the Great Depression.

During its nine year run, beginning in 1933, more than 130,000 young men in Ohio enrolled in the program.

The Ada Public Library Board of Directors is requesting qualifications (RFQ) from qualified architects and engineers for the Proposed Renovation and Additions to the Ada Public Library.

Project will include the minor renovations of the existing building and construction of a new 3,000 square-feet addition as well as site improvements.  Project costs including A/E services and professional fees are estimated at $900,000 to $1 million.

The selected A/E Team will be given a completed schematic design package detailing scope of project along with a probable cost estimation.

Isabella Mancuso leads a teen writing group that meets at Ada Public Library at 6:30 p.m. every other Monday. From 8 to 12 teens attend. All teens are welcome to join.

She said, "The purpose of the group is to let people write and help people write. We bounce ideas off each other and support each other. We all love writing and we love to read our friends' stories."
