Vehicle registration for this 53rd annual Bluffton Festival of Wheels is underway according to Dan Diller, festival director.

The show is sponsored by the Bluffton Lions Club.

This year’s festival is Friday, June 19, in downtown Bluffton. Registration is from 2 to 5 p.m. rain or shine.  Vehicle judging is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Trophies will be awarded at 7:30 p.m.

The show is open to antique cars, classic cars, trucks, tractors, golf carts, fire engines, motorcycles and Cushmans.

Registration fees by May 31 are $10 per vehicle. Registration thereafter is $12.

A spring local vendor pop up shop features 12  vendors from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 14, at The Centre of Bluffton, according to Cindy Luginbuhl, one of the event planners.

The event is open to the public and includes special offers from vendors and door prizes.

Ada K-5 students invited to compete • Part of Dogs and Bears Get Fit Program

Ada elementary students (K-5) will participate in the first-ever Ada junior track meet next week.

The event is from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. at the King Horn Fieldhouse on the ONU campus. Medals will be awarded to the top three placers in the following events:
• Long jump
• Ball throw
• 50-yard dash
• 400-meter un

Events will be split into competitive groups of boys and girls:
• Kindergarten-first grade
• Second-third grade
• Fourth-fifth grade

The event is free and students must sign-up to participate. Permission slips are attached at the bottom of this story.

Hardin County schools, local law enforcement, the ministerial association, Quest Federal Credit Union, and Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative

A “Digital Empowerment for Parents” event is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative, 1210 W. Lima Ave., Kenton.  

As parents and educators, we often think about ways to keep youth safe.  

We make sure children are wearing a seatbelt, don’t go anywhere by themselves, don’t have access to any weapons, and understand the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

A workshop to help area professionals sharpen their social media skills will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 20 in McIntosh Center at Ohio Northern University. The event is intended to help individuals learn how to optimize their organization’s social media presence.

Tickets are on sale for an annual awards banquet on Thursday, March 19, from 6 p.m., at McIntosh Ballroom, at ONU, for the Soroptimist International clubs of Hardin and Hancock counties.

The evening is in celebration of local women and girls, and includes dinner, speaker, and live entertainment from Noteworthy Community Choir Sweet Notes. The speaker is Coach Kate Witte will discuss how women can be empowered through playing sports.
