Village advertises for bid: Lease of 33 acres of farmland

The Village of Ada has posted the following advertisement for bid: 

Sealed bids for the lease of 33.66 tillable acres, more of less, of farm ground located in the Village of ada along Willow Parkway within the Ada grass Run Industrial Park, owned by the Village of Ada, Hardin County, Ohio and being parcel numbers 25-1700920000, 25-1700930000, 25-1700940000, 25-1700950000, 25-1700960000, 25-1701130000, 25-1701140000,25-1701430000 and 25-1701440000 will be received by the Village of Ada at the Municipal Building, 115 West Buckeye Avenue, Ada, Ohio until February 28th,  2023 at 12:00 noon.

The lease will be for a two-year term commencing on March 7th, 2023, and terminating on February 28th, 2025. Bids are to be based on a per acre rate at an acreage of 33 acres with an annual payment payable on the first day of December 2023 and each year thereafter. A copy of the lease with full terms and a map of the lease area may be obtained from the Village Utility office and questions may be directed to the Village Administrator at 419-634-4045 or email at jhall.adaoh.org.

EPA survey for Ada water customers

All Ada residents will be asked to participate in a mandated Ohio Environmental Protection Agency survey. The survey will be included in your next water bill.

The deadline for responses is February 15, 2023.

The Village of Ada has been mandated by Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) to implement a CROSS CONNECTION PROGRAM to comply with current regulations as defined in the Ohio Administrative Code Rule 3745-95-04(C). The purpose of the program is to protect the safety of community public water supplies. A CROSS CONNECTION is any temporary or permanent connection between the Ada public supply and another source. An example would be piping between a public water system and an auxiliary source such as a private well or lawn sprinkler system.

Snow emergency ordinance reminder

In preparation for the possible winter storm, we would like to remind citizens of the Village’s snow emergency ordinance, 351.21. https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/.../latest/ada_oh/0-0-0-9122

“During the existence of an emergency snow conditions, no person shall park a motor vehicle upon the following public streets in the Village, as follows:

No parking shall be permitted on:

Gilbert Street from Lima Avenue to North Street;

Johnson Street from Lima Avenue to North Street;

Simon Street Lima Avenue to North Street;

Lincoln Avenue from Corporation line to Corporation line;

Turner Avenue from Main Street to Grand Avenue;

Montford Avenue from Main Street to Liberty Street,

Highland Avenue from Gilbert Street to Simon Street,

Buckeye Avenue from Johnson Street to Grand Avenue and University Avenue from Main Street to Ream Street.

Grandview Boulevard project update from the village

The Village of Ada issued the following Grandview Boulevard Project Update on January 12:

“Contracts with Beaverdam Construction have been signed and the pre-construction meeting with the engineer(COE) and Contractor (Andy and Yvonne James) was held on 12.28.2022. Everything went well with the meeting and a soft project start date of mid February was discussed. Columbia gas will be relocating a few gas mains in the next couple of weeks. 

Reminder: Neighborhood Revitalization meeting January 14

Hardin County and the Village of Ada are planning to apply for a grant to make improvements in the community. The Village is holding a meeting to discuss residents' priorities for street and sidewalk work, and to discuss local resources for community projects. 

The meeting will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in the Ada Railroad Depot, 110 Central Avenue, Ada, Ohio. For more information, please call the Village Hall at 419-634- 4045.

Since the last meeting, organizers have received information on what areas of the village are eligible to be included in the grant application.

Four of six census tracts in the village are income elibible.

The War Memorial Park is not within village limits and is therefore not eligible.

Village Administrator Jamie Hall wants property owners in the village to be proactive about the cold, windy conditions expected in the next few days, December 23-25.
