The Ohio Northern softball team currently is in Florida during spring break where it plays 12 games in Kissimmee, Fla., at the Sunkissed Games.

After returning home, ONU will open its home schedule at the ONU Softball Field on Mar. 14 as it welcomes Hanover (Ind.) for a double header at 2:30 pm.

Other non-conference doubles headers feature matchups against Alma (Mich.), Anderson (Ind.), Wooster, and Transylvania (Ky.).

The Polar Bears open conference play with a double header on the road at Heidelberg on Mar. 24.

The Polar Bears baseball team openers its season on March 4 as they begin their 10-game slate in Florida at the RussMatt Invitational with a double header against Nebraska Wesleyan.

Other double headers in Florida feature matchups with Wentworth (Mass.) and Mt. St. Joseph. The Polar Bears will also take on Albion (Mich.), Aurora (Ill.), RIT and Nichols (Mass.) during the Florida trip.

After returning home, Northern will travel to area-rival Bluffton on Mar. 13 before a 3-game series at Thomas More (Ky.) from Mar. 16-17.

Blanchard Valley Health System Live and Learn Series

Blanchard Valley Health System will hold its next Live and Learn Series in late March.

The program’s focus is  “Menopause and Your Health.” It takes place from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, March 29, in Marathon Auditorium of Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

Featured speakers are Dr. Miguel Jordan, Dr. Robert Schutz and Dr. Allison Westcott.

Persons interested in attending should RSVP to [email protected] or call 419-423-5551 by Wednesday, March 21. A boxed lunch will be provided.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept St. Vincent (Pa.) 9-0 on Tuesday at Oak Street Park.

The Polar Bears improve to 7-2 overall and lost only nine games in the nine matches, while the Bearcats fall to 6-9.

Senior Lynn Kelly (Mason) and sophomore Jordan Dodson (Worthington) swept their singles matches, winning 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 2 and 5, respectively.

IMMACULATA, Pa. — Junior Max Weese (Columbus/Hilliard Darby) and sophomore Cameron Marous (Brecksville) each had hat tricks to lead the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team to an impressive 14-3 victory at Immaculata (Pa.) on Tuesday.

The Polar Bears improve to 4-1 on the season, while the Mighty Macs fall to 1-4.

Weese picked up all three of his goals in the first half as ONU raced to an 8-1 halftime lead.

Marous finished his hat trick with back-to-back goals in the third period. His third gal at the 2:30 mark of the period extended ONU's lead to 11-1.
