The Ohio Northern men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to open the 2018-19 season under first-year head coach Austin Veltman when they take the pool at the annual Kenyon Relays held Saturday, Oct. 20.
The meet, which will serve as Northern's season opener for the sixth consecutive season, will be held in two different locations. The swimming portion of the event will be held at Kenyon while all divers will compete at nearby Denison located in Granville.

WAPAKONETA - The Ada Alligator swim team stands in fourth place at the annual eight-team West Ohio Aquatic League championship meet after the first day of competition in Wapakoneta Friday.
Westside leads the combined team standings after completion of the first 40 events with 1,593.5 points. Wapakoneta is second (1,379), followed by Bluffton (1,030) and Ada (681).
Shawnee sits fifth (567) and Kenton is sixth (534), with Van Wert seventh (304) and Sherwood last (284.5).
The Kenton High School tennis program will hold a two-day tournament Saturday and Sunday, July 28-29, at the Kenton High School tennis courts.
The event is a fund-raiser for the tennis program. The schedule follows:

Matches start at 9 a.m. – middle school singles, high school and adult singles
Sunday, July 29
Matches start at 9 a.m. - Elementary singles, high school doubles, adult doubles

Ohio Northern senior women's golfer Raven Venegas (Lima/Shawnee), juniors Caitlin Silva (Hilliard/Bradley) and Alaina Mikolajewski (Piqua), and sophomore Taylor Daniel (Columbia City, Ind.) were all named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team.
To be nominated, individuals must meet the team's minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50.
All four individuals previously received notoriety for their academic success after being named to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team earlier this postseason.
