Ohio Northern women's basketball coach Michele Durand has been named 2013 RUSSELL ATHLETIC /WBCA NCAA Division III Region 6 Coach of the Year.
This is the second time Durand has earned this honor, also winning the award for the 2007-08 season.
She is now a finalist for the 2013 RUSSELL ATHLETIC/WBCA NCAA Division III Nation Coach of the Year Award, which will be announced on Monday, April 8 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Durand led the Polar Bears to their first OAC Regular Season and Tournament Championship since the 1987-88 season. She also guided Northern to a program record 27-2 mark, including a 25 game winning streak.
The Ohio Northern men's and women's tennis team's matches have been moved to Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center in Lima, Ohio on Friday and Saturday.
The women's team will take on regionally ranked Oberlin at the regularly scheduled time on 4:30 pm on Friday.
On Saturday, both the men's and women's team will host Wittenberg at 9 am at Westwood, which is an hour earlier than the previous scheduled time of 10 am.
The women will then open OAC play at 1 pm on Saturday against Wilmington at Westwood Tennis Center.

Junior Carly Olmstead has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
This is the second straight week that Northern (9-2) has garnered in the award, as sophomore Brittany Miller was named player of the week last week (March 3).
Olmstead posted a perfect 2-0 record in doubles play.
On Tuesday, she teamed with junior Lauren Rife to win 8-4 at No. 3 doubles against Biola (Calif.).
She posted the lone doubles victory at No. 3 doubles with freshman Meghan Letizia in Northern's 6-3 loss to Whitter (Calif.).
Olmstead posted a 4-0 doubles record on the trip and is now 7-1 in doubles play on the season.
Junior Do Thai has been named OAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 11.
Thai posted a 7-1 record last week as the Polar Bears (3-4) went 3-1 on their spring trip in Orlando, Fla.
On Tuesday against Wartburg (Iowa), Thai won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and 9-7 at No. 2 doubles.
Against Wabash (Ind.) on Wednesday, Thai teamed with junior Josh Saunders to win the clinching match at No. 2 doubles by a 9-7 score. He also won 2-6, 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
