125 years later...the ONU marching band plays on
ONU Marching Band field commander Ryan Briley attempted to make history by playing “The Longest Note” in front of Heterick Memorial Library on Tuesday. There's still time to join us this week as the Star of Northwest Ohio commemorates 125 years of accomplishment.
The following story is from ONU's Facebook:
For 125 years, the Ohio Northern University Marching Band contributed to the Northern campus and the Ada community.
When students J.B. McArthur and S.H. Myers led the first marching band in 1890, it is doubtful that either considered the legacy they were leaving.
Since then, the Star of Northwest Ohio has embraced music performance, encouraged commitment, channeled dedication and developed a sense of purpose in countless young adults.
If McArthur and Marshall were here today, they would certainly agree that the Ohio Northern University marching band is a remarkable musical organization.
Join the band this week as it commemorates 125 years of accomplishment.
