The following notice was posted on the Hardin County Sherrif's Office Facebook page on February 20, 2024:
Sheriff Everhart is pleased to announce that he and the Hardin County Commissioners have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding in regards to the Hardin County Dog Warden and dog pound.
Sheriff Everhart will begin managing the Dog Warden and pound effective immediately for the 2024 calendar year.
