The young and young-at-heart are in for a treat when the village swimming pool opens on May 26, the Saturday before Memorial Day.

Construction on the million dollar improvement began last fall, progressed through the winter, and will be ready when warmer weather and sunshine arrive in late May.

Here is what swimmers can look forward to:

A waterpark with a waterfall, water cannons, soaking bench, spray hoops, jets of water squirting out, and a tumbling water bucket, if you want to get extra wet.

16 commissioners from Ada, Kenton, Forest, Mt. Victory

By Monty  Siekerman
Representatives from the four village and town with tree commissions in Hardin County met together on Friday afternoon for the first time to discuss common issues and agreed to meet regularly to share ideas.

For example, Ada, Kenton, Forest, and Mt. Victory all have annual Arbor Day events in April.

What one town does to celebrate Arbor Day also may work in another town. Some other ideas discussed were how to get volunteers to help trim trees, how to manage insect problems, how to allocate budgets, what programs work and which ones don’t work.

Open to Ada community

The Ada VFW has two events open to the public in April, both meals. They are:

Friday, April 13, 5-7 00 p.m. Spaghetti and meat balls dinner, all-you-can-eat. Adults $8 and children 10 and under $4.

Friday, April 27, 5-7 p.m.  Fish dinner, all-you-can-eat. Adults $8 and children 10 and under $4.

A pair of second-place finishes by the boys comprised the best Ada relay showing. The trio of junior Brad Clum, senior Zach Breidenbach and freshman Ian Dellifield combined to clear 16-2.
