ONU among best in Ohio bar passage rate
Ninety percent of Ohio Northern University’s law school graduates passed Ohio’s July 2013 bar examination on their first attempt, and 90 percent of all ONU law graduates who took the bar passed. ONU’s Pettit College of Law ranked second among Ohio law schools in overall passage rate and third in the passage rate of first-time takers.
Richard Bales, dean of the Pettit College of Law, said, “ONU Law’s consistently high bar passage rate over the last several years reflects the strong work ethic and abilities of our students and the high caliber of legal education they receive at ONU Law.”
ONU’s overall passage rate of 90 percent was 7.5 percent higher than the state average of 82.4 percent. ONU’s first-time pass rate of 90 percent was also higher than the state average of 87 percent.
In February 2013, ONU graduates had a perfect 100 percent passage rate for those who took the test for the first time.
