Three names were listed under the Open Floor segment on the agenda with the expectation that they would comment on a proposed ordinance regarding vendors including food trucks. Discussion indicated that two had spoken to the mayor and councilor Bob Simmons prior to the meeting.
There were no resolutions or ordinances on the agenda.
Due to unavailability of the meeting room at Community Health Professionals the meetings previously listed in the Ada Icon have been postponed.
The ordinance has also been tabled for further review by the Village’s Solicitor. We will issue an update on the meetings and the ordinance as soon as they are available.

Regulations and permits considered for transient businesses including mobile food vendors

At the March 18 Village of Ada council meeting, a proposed ordinance was tabled regarding establishing requirements and regulations for transient businesses and vendors, mobile food vendors and food trucks operating within the Village of Ada. Council member Bob Simmons commented that he would like to see community input on the topic and a tabling motion was approved by the other members.
The March 18 meeting of the Village Of Ada Council took place without councilors Sean Beck and Sheila Coressel, but was not short of a quorum. Lively conversations took place on the topics of utility aggregation, steps taken when water shut and turn on are followed by an inside leak, proposed regulations for transient vendors including food trucks, and the creation of a list of Ada landlords.
On Thursday, March 6, the Ada Schools Board of Education held a special meeting to review work in progress and 2-year plans for the Ag building and the building that includes the Central Office, Board Room, two Liberty Village Preschool classrooms, “86” and “Varsity/’71” gyms, and concessions area.
Superintendent Julie Simmons and Facility Maintenance Coordinator Lance Dearth made a presentation on repair work, maintenance and improvements for the two buildings.
The March 4 regular meeting of Ada Council included public forum comments on water bill late fees, updates on electricity and gas aggregation programs and a review of 2025 street paving plans. The meeting packet is HERE.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Denise D’Arca described her frustrations with a late water bill in the U.S. Mail and a delay in payment processing that resulted in late fees. She had submitted a formal request asking the village to waive the fees; later in the meeting this request was denied.
Council members and Village Administrator Jamie Hall discussed late fee policies, noting that customers have an obligation to pay Village utility bills by the 10th of the month regardless of whether the bill is received in the mail. Hall noted that the Village sends out some 135 delinquent payment notices each month and makes some 65 followup calls.
