Here's some summer reading suggestions from Ada schools

Need some summer reading?

Ada schools provide some great ideas for students from grades seven on up. The lists are on the school website. CLICK HERE.

What’s suggested?
Everything from:
•  “Where the Red Fern Grows,” for 7th graders
• “The House on Mango Street,” for 8th graders
• “Animal Farm,” for freshmen
• “To Kill A Mockingbird,” for sophomores
 • “the Scarlet Letter,” for juniors
•  “Slaughterhouse Five,” for AP summer reading.

Historical Society to meet

The Ada Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 18 at the Ada Public Library.

 

Outdoor patriotic pops concert June 30

Lima Symphony Orchestra comes to Ada

The Lima Symphony Orchestra will celebrate Independence Day with its fourth annual Patriotic Pops Concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, at Ohio Northern University.

Today is Flag Day

Today is Flag Day, and the Lila Pifer home at Main and StR 81 is all decked out to observe the occasion. Lila stands on the balcony of her big brick home surrounded by a flag and a red, white, and blue umbrella turned on its side.

ReStore's monthly bereavement dinner is Thursday

Volunteers needed this summer

The next bereavement dinner hosted by ReStore is at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 14. ReStore will host the evening meal. It is open to anyone experiencing a close, personal loss.

ReStore, 210 N. Main St., Ada, holds the breavement dinners on the second Thursday of each month. July's dinner will be on July 12.

Several additional programs take place at ReStore this summer. Euchre is played each Thursday at 1 p.m. and persons are invited to  join in the games.
