Cover your ears and read the plaque
The historic Ada siren is now at rest in the Ada depot area. Recently a plaque was placed above the siren. It provides some interesting history of Ada's loudest noise-maker. Here's the wording on the plaque: Federal Signal Model B Modified Duo Code Siren. Purchased by the Village of Ada in the spring of 1927. The siren was originally located on the roof of the Town Hall and was later moved to the top of the Ada Municipal Building in 1937. It was activated for a few minutes every day at 11:30 a.m. It was removed in 2000. Placed at the Railroad Depot in January 2012. Restoration by Rick Hughes. Research by Jon Umphress.
