Ada School Board welcomes new teachers and staff for 2025-2026

The August 21 meeting of the Ada Board of Education began with an introduction to a large “freshman class” of teachers and staff. In a pre-meeting reception, board members were introduced to 13 individuals who are new to the district.
REPORTS
Robin VanBuskirk reported on state funding and delays caused by system problems. Funding contributes to reading, professional development, behavioral leadership, school resource officer, English proficiency, intervention specialists and preschool services. State and federal grants received are listed below and detailed HERE.

TREASURER
Treasurer Kim Light reported on the first month of the fiscal year with numbers that show temporary appropriations compared to actual expenditures. Balance of funds supporting documents are HERE.

ACTION ITEMS
Board member Justin Hollon volunteered to again serve as the OSBA (Ohio School Boards Association) representative and Ted Griffin volunteered to be the alternate.
The board approved agreements with Ohio Northern University for use of the pool, College Credit Plus with University of Findlay, SAFY-Lima Behavioral Health and Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

The board will meet on September 18 at 6:00 p.m. in board chambers in the administration-gyms building.
