Save it from the landfill

Unused and broken electronic devices collected this week

The ONU recycling effort is underway this week when residents of Ada can bring unused or broken electronic devices to Heterick Memorial Library on campus to be properly disposed of.

Devices can be brought to the library between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. through Friday.

Nearly all electronic devices are accepted, including computers, laptops, monitors, mice, keyboards, VCRs, DVD players, speakers, CDs, printers, DVDs, computer cables, cell phones, tablets, scanners, battery chargers.

More pancakes than you can count

Served to 600 hungry patrons

The Ada Kiwanis Club served about 600 meals on Saturday during the 66th annual Pancake/Sausage Day at the Ada Schools cafeteria during the breakfast and lunch hours.

This is a major fundraiser for the service club, which is known for helping youth.

Serving began at 7 a.m. and, yes, there were diners waiting at the door at that early hour on a Saturday morning.

Historical Society to meet Monday

 

The newly-formed Ada Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the Ada Public Library. All of those interested in helping organize the Society are welcome To attend.

Earlier, the Society organizers thought that the first annual membership dinner would be held on Monday, but the dinner has been postponed until May. The meeting on Monday will involve making plans for the dinner and its membership drive. All of those who attend the May dinner and join the Society will be considered charter members.

Ada High School Players presents murder mystery

Who is the murderer, does anyone survive? Find out the answers when the Ada High School Players stage Agatha Christie’s murder mystery “Then There Were None” from April 20-22 in the school auditorium. Tickets are only $5. Curtain time is 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday that weekend.
